I'm in the EU - why have I been charged VAT?

Following a sudden change by the EU to VAT rules on the 1st July 2021 all parcels from the UK to Europe are now subject to VAT even though we are not VAT registered. For specific countries (currently Germany, France, Cyprus, the Netherlands and Malta) we are able to add the VAT to your order automatically and pre-clear your parcel through EU customs. For other EU countries that have not so far agreed the new streamlined process we will not charge VAT and you are responsible for paying any import taxes when your parcel is delivered.

I've been charged a customs fee?

European countries are harmonising their VAT and import duties as per a new EU Directive. Unfortunately this has meant the previous exemption for low value goods has been removed across the EU, and some countries are taking the opportunity to stop all foreign parcels and apply extra taxes before they are released for delivery. We can and will pre-clear orders where we can, but it is your responsibility to pay any taxes or customs fees required by your country.

What is my tracking number?

Tracking numbers will be supplied on request for users who have selected the “trackable” shipping method when purchasing. Contact us for more info at [email protected]

Can I change the custom design on my order?

The shade of blue isn't quite right? If you want to change the design on your item, please get in touch with us. If you email us the next working day of placing your order, we will certainly help!

Please make sure the uploaded background image is a proper resolution for printing before placing your order (see the section on “How to print”). Note that if the image doesn't look good on your computer screen (pixelated or has missing details), there's a high chance the image on the printed product will have the same issue.

I made a mistake on my delivery address

The address provided is very important to ensure we get your order to destination in due time. Be sure to add your:

  • House number
  • ZIP code
  • Town, province and country
  • PO BOX if needed

Typos, a missing house number or just a wrong ZIP code can easily get your order lost in the mail system. Please contact our support team within 24 hours of placing your order if you notice that you made a mistake on your address. The sooner the better! [email protected]

Orders with incorrect or incomplete delivery address are generally returned to us within two weeks time. If we need to re-ship your order it maybe subject to additional shipping costs. Please double check your delivery address carefully before confirming your order.

Can I return a product?

If you are not fully satisfied with your purchase or have a question about delivery, please email us so we can resolve your query as quickly as possible.

You can return your product within 14 days of delivery, please carefully read our terms of sale below.

You have the right to return this product if you want to:

  • Exchange the product for a different size, color or design
  • Request a refund of the item
  • Return fees are not covered and are user's responsibility

Note that special rules apply for personalised or custom-made products since they are created specifically for you. That means we do not accept returns of customised products except for manufacturing defects.

Please add a cover note on your package to note your invoice number and the reason you are returning your product.

Once we receive your return package, your refund will be processed within 5 business days. It usually takes 2-3 business days for your payment to be refund to your account, some banks and credit card providers may take a bit longer to process. Credit will be issued for the original amount that was paid for the merchandise. Refunds will be issued in the original form of payment only.

We respect codes of conduct set forth by British regulators and, as an online consumer, you are entitled to protection by these codes (such as the Consumer Contracts Regulations).

Can I get a refund for all or part of my order?

To request a refund, please email us with your reason and order number.

We can refund your payment if:

  • You received a damaged or defective product
  • You received a different product from the one you ordered
  • Your order was not delivered

Please read our Return Policy for the relevant rules and restrictions. Please note that customised or personalised orders can only be returned if they have a manufacturing defect.

How do I report a concern with content on this site?

To remove an inappropriate poster from our website, you can report it using the “report” button on each poster page - our staff will review your request and take the image down if it breaks our terms of use. Always be sure to include the reason for the report.

Please be sure to read our privacy section before creating a poster. You should always use the report option if you see a poster in the categories below:

  • Highly inappropriate and offensive content, images or text
  • Contains messages that incite hate or violence
  • Contains racial, ethnic or sexist slurs
  • Is used for bullying or harassing someone

How do I create a private poster?

Public posters can be created by anyone who visits our website. They are, just as the name states, public: they will be shown to everyone who explores our website through the Discover page, and anyone can find them easily on a Google search.

To create a private poster, just:

  • Log in to your Keep Calm-o-Matic account
  • Create your image
  • Tick the “private” box before generating the poster

Private posters will not be seen by anyone but the author (visible in the account page) and the users who have the link to the poster.

My trademark is being used without permission!

If you see a poster on our website that you believe is using your trademark without permission, please report it! Our staff reviews these requests daily and remove images as appropriate. We take trademark issues very seriously and respond promptly to any request. Please include information about your trademark like registration number, the countries it is valid in and the domains it is active for.

How do I remove or delete my account?

To remove your account simply make sure you are logged in, then click your name at the top right of the Keep Calm site and choose My Profile to get to your profile page. Once on the page, click Settings. At the bottom of the page you'll see a button to click to delete your account.

Please be aware that deleting an account is permanent and cannot be undone. The username will be released for anyone else to use and any posters you have created with your account will also be deleted.

If you are having problems deleting your account this way, or cannot log into your account to delete it, please email your username (and ideally the email address associated with it) to [email protected] so we can take a look for you.

How do I create my own Keep Calm poster?

Keep Calm posters can be created by anyone who visits our website! It's fast, easy, fun and, like the best things in life, it's absolutely free!

The template for this poster is the same as the original Keep Calm classic poster, created at the height of World War II by the UK Ministry of Information.

How to create my poster? It's as easy as 1-2-3, just use our keep calm poster creation tool and:

  1. Change the to your favourite slogan, you can choose font colour and style
  2. Choose the logo or upload your own
  3. Choose your background image or upload your own

Share your poster with your friends and have them vote up if they like it!
